Why an independent inspection beats the dealer's 'free check'
When the dealer offers a "free inspection", the inspection is run by the dealer's own workshop. The person checking the car is paid by the person selling it. That is the conflict of interest an independent inspection is designed to remove.
Who pays decides what gets reported
An AAPPI inspector earns no commission on the sale and has no relationship with the seller. There is no incentive to soften a finding, and no reason to leave anything out. The report tells you what is true, not what helps close the deal.
Independence is structural, not a slogan
It is enforced by our inspector code of conduct: no inducements, full disclosure of any conflict, and reports delivered through the platform so they cannot be edited after the fact.
How to use an independent report
Take it to the seller. A documented list of advisories and faults is the strongest negotiating tool you have — and if the car is sound, you buy knowing exactly what you are getting.
