How AAPPI keeps inspections honest

Last updated: 2026-06-23

Trust is the product. Here's how we build it into every inspection.

1. Structural independence

The whole point of AAPPI is that the inspector works for the buyer, not the seller. Our inspectors earn no commission on a sale and have no relationship with the seller. That independence is enforced by our inspector code of conduct, not just promised.

2. Verified workshops and inspectors

Workshops apply to join AAPPI and are checked before they can take bookings. Inspectors work within their licensing and competence, and follow a standard checklist for each vehicle type so reports are consistent and comparable.

3. Tamper-proof reports

Reports are created and delivered through the AAPPI platform, so they can't be edited or pressured after the fact. Findings are backed by photos, and the report you receive is exactly what the inspector recorded.

4. Secure payments

Payments are handled by a trusted payment provider. We don't store full card details on our own servers, and money is only released to a workshop after the booking is fulfilled under our marketplace terms.

5. Your data

We collect only what we need to run an inspection and protect it in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. See our Privacy Policy for the detail.

6. Disputes and remedies

If something goes wrong, we step in. Our refund policy sets out cancellations and remedies, and your rights under the Australian Consumer Law always apply. Contact us and we'll work with you and the workshop to put it right.

7. Report a concern

If you see something that doesn't look right — a pressured report, an inspector conflict of interest, or a safety issue — tell us at support@aappi.com.au. We take every report seriously.
