1. Introduction
AAPPI Pty Ltd ("AAPPI", "we", "us", "our") operates the AAPPI marketplace, which connects consumers with independent automotive workshops for pre-purchase vehicle inspections. We are committed to protecting your personal information and handling it in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
This policy explains what we collect, why, how we use and disclose it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website, marketplace, and booking services.
2. Information we collect
We collect information you give us and information generated as you use AAPPI:
- Account information: name, email address, phone number, and password when you register.
- Booking information: the vehicle, inspection type, preferred date and time, inspection address, and any seller contact details you provide.
- Payment information: processed by our payment provider. We do not store full card numbers on our own servers.
- Communications: messages with us or with a workshop, and support enquiries.
- Technical data: device, browser, IP address, and usage data collected via cookies and similar technologies.
- Location data: approximate or entered location when you search for nearby workshops (with your permission).
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- create and manage your account;
- process bookings, payments, and refunds;
- connect you with the workshop performing your inspection;
- deliver inspection reports and send confirmations and reminders;
- provide support and respond to your enquiries;
- improve and secure our services and prevent fraud; and
- send service updates and, where you have opted in, marketing.
5. Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers may store or process data outside Australia. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
6. Data security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit, secure infrastructure, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services, and afterwards as required to meet legal, tax, accounting, and dispute- resolution obligations. Inspection records may be retained to support warranty and dispute purposes.
8. Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you may:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- ask us to delete information we no longer need to hold;
- opt out of marketing communications at any time; and
- make a complaint about how we handle your information.

10. Children
AAPPI is intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always the one published on this page, with the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be notified to registered users by email.
